BR100 Results

Fencing is a kind of sport that requires mental and physical strength of every participant. However, not just speed, strength as well as coordination matters in this sport. It is necessary for fencers to think and react fast and be able to strategize their next move.

Your Weapon of Choice

There are actually 3 different kinds of weapons used in fencing and each type has its own style and rules to be followed.

Epee

Here, the points are scored with just the blade’s tip.

The whole body is the target and whoever touches gets the score. In the event that the fencers simultaneously scores, then both of them receives a score.

Epee fencers are actually more famous for their thoughtful attacks and incredible patience.

Foil

With foil, the touches of the tip of blade is a score. The only target is the torso and marked by silver electric vest referred to as “lame”. It follows a specific set of rules that’s called as “right of way” where it determines who will get the point when both fencers touched.

Saber

Scoring is same with the previous types but in saber, the sole target is from the waist to the upper part of the body. Fencers who are playing saber are wearing long-sleeved lame to electronically register the touches.
